Richmond 300 will be developed with extensive community engagement. As such, there will be numerous ways to participate - some more time-intensive than others.

Advisory Council

Sub-committee of the City Planning Commission

The Advisory Council is an adhoc sub-committee of the City Planning Commission. The Advisory Team serves as 
  1. A sounding board to help shape the content of Richmond 300; and 
  2. Liaisons to the community at large by helping to build awareness of and participating in the plan update process. 
Meetings: All Advisory Council Meetings are open to the public. The Advisory Council meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at the Main Library (101 E. Franklin St, Richmond, VA 23219). A list of the 2018 meeting dates and topics can be found here:

Working Groups

In 2018, the Advisory Council will establish Working Groups that will be based on topics that emerge through community conversations. The Working Groups will be comprised of community members, Advisory Council members, and City staff. Working Groups will be critical in shaping the goals, strategies, and actions that will comprise the Richmond 300 docuemnt. 

If you're interested in joining an Advisory Council Committee, make sure you sign up for email updates and you follow Richmond 300 on Facebook and Instagram so you know when the Working Groups are established.

All Working Group meetings will be open to the public. 


Official Volunteers

The Ambassadors are volunteers that assist in spreading the word about the Master Plan. 
If you are interested in becoming an Ambassador, read this program overview:

We will continue to accept  Ambassadors throughout the process. If you are interested in serving as an Ambassador, fill out this questionnaire and we will be in touch:

There will be an Ambassador Training Session in August 2018 - location and date TBD. Email to find out more details.

Community Consultations

We will host community consultations throughout the process. Please join our mailing list and follow us on Facebook so you are notified when these are scheduled.

Pop-Up Events

We know that large-format community consultations do not reach all audiences. We will have mobile meetings to help reach traditionally under-represented populations.

Social Media

We established Instagram and Facebook accounts as another way to reach our constituents. Follow us @richmond300 and use the hashtag #richmond300 when posting about the Master Plan.

Office Hours

The Richmond 300 Project Team hosts Office Hours the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month from 3 to 5 P.M. at City Hall (900 E. Broad St, Richmond, VA 23219 in Room 511). Stop by if you have a question or want to talk about about Richmond 300.
